Knicks Look Forward To The Return Of Barron

Marc Berman of the NY Post reported early this morning that sources say that the Knicks will have an empty roster spot one way or another coming up soon, and may look to Earl Barron to fill the void. Barron was picked up by the Suns earlier this year, but was later released once Robin Lopez came back from injury Dec. 22.

Barron was a great pick up for the Knicks at the end of the year, as he was able to fit in D'Antoni's system quite nicely and was a force on the boards.  Knicks believe Barron can come in and help take the load of Stoudermire, who missed the last game with a toe injury and maybe shut down until the end of the All-Star break.  The Knicks are pummeled in the rebounding the department almost every night, so this is a good decision. More rebounds means more possessions and chances to score. Also gives the Knicks the ability to play Amar'e at his nature position.

If the Carmelo trade is not completed by the deadline, the Knicks may look to release Kelenna Azubuike and Eddy Curry.
