Jazz Hold Off the Knicks, Final Score 131-125

New York Knicks Guard Bill Walker (5) Consoles Knicks Forward Amar'e Stoudemire (1) As He Reacts To Getting Fouled By
This is the Knicks last game of a grueling west coast swing, and after running through the Portland Trailblazers  last night at the Rose Garden, I lowered my expectations when it came to this Utah Jazz game.  Especially with the Jazz owning one of the most explosive point guards in the league in all-star Deron Williams, and upon hearing that Raymond Felton would play despite a bum ankle and Toney Douglas was not expected to play because of an injured shoulder.  But this Knicks team continues to show resilience and depth as they simple would not bow out of this game, even when the Jazz would try to pull away for good.

Deron Williams and CJ Miles scored 24 points each. Seven Utah players scored in double digit points. The game became a battle of 3-pointers, with New York making 14 of 29 and the Jazz hitting 10 of 22.  Shawne Williams was 7 of 8 from behind the arc and scored 25 points for the Knicks, who brought the Knicks closer after trailing by as many as 16, before finishing 2-2 on their western trip. Al Jefferson added 19 points,  Raja Bell had 18, Paul Millsap scored 17 and Andrei Kirilinko had 14. New York dropped to 22-16 and has not won in Salt Lake City since 2005.

Amar'e Stoudermire scored 10 of the Knicks first 20 points, but found himself in foul trouble earlier. He picked up his 2nd foul with 4:30 left in the first quarter and his 4th just three minutes into the third. Amar'e finished with 22 points. Bill Walker scored a season-high 23 points but had just three in the second half.  Walker, whose previous season-high was 10, had 20 by half time and was the main reason the Knicks were in reach for a possible comeback to win.  In this game, it was fatigue that ended up beating the Knicks.

Opinion of the day: Maybe the Knicks need to start thinking about giving Andy Rautins and shot at that 3rd point guard position, because Roger Mason Jr. playing point guard is not a pretty sight to see...
