Mikhail Prokhorov, Nets to Throw in The Towel, No longer Seeking a Trade for Carmelo

News has just surfaced that Mikhail Prokhorov and the New Jersey Nets will officially withdraw themselves from the running in the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes.  According to reports, Prokhorov has ordered Nets GM Billy King to cease activities in acquiring Anthony.

“I’m not happy with the way … this deal has gone until now,” said Prokhorov. “It has taken too long. It has been played out in public and it certainly has taken a toll on the players and I believe that it has cost us several games. I think management did a great job, but there comes a time when the price is simply too expensive. I’m instructing our team to walk away from the deal."

I wonder if CAA received this news this early this morning, and is the reason why they suddenly want to involve the Chicago Bulls. And the sage continues...
