Yesterday, the Knicks hosted the Miami Heat at the Garden in a thriller where the final score was 93-88. For the Knicks to pull out an impressive win in this fashion, good defensive play must have played a role. I must admit, Mike D'Antoni is growing as a coach, and adding defense to an already potent style of offense will make the New York Knicks a team to contend for years to come.
The Knicks face the Atlanta Hawks tonight at 7:30 EST. The Knicks, who lead the league in road scoring (105.8 points per game), have lost four straight and eight of 10 as the visiting team. They've been held to 93.0 points over the last three road games. New York is 4-12 when scoring fewer than 100 points. Atlanta is allowing 92.5 points in its last 11 home games.
So tonight will be another test to see how effective Mike D'Antoni's lessons on defense actually are.
Don't get defensive now. Watch the clip!
