Knicks Bow to the Kings, Final Score 93-83

Toney Douglas #23 Of The New York Knicks Lays

The Knicks played the Sacramento Kings tonight, and we all expected that New York would have a record of 23-16 by nights ends. However, the Knicks for the second game in a row looked lethargic, out of sync, and didn't look like the Knicks team vying for the 6th seed in the east.  I just have a funny feeling all the Carmelo talks might have infiltrated the Knicks locker room and might have the players suddenly a little distracted.  Lets just hope this so called "Melo drama" comes to a end soon because I don't think I can bare to watch another game like the one played tonight.

Amar'e scored the team high 25 points, but was off just about the entire night shooting only 6-22 from the field.  Wilson Chandler didn't fair too well either scoring just 9 points on 4-14 shooting. Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, and Anthony Randolph are the players directly effected by the Melo trade talks, for they would be the chips in the potential trade for Carmelo (although I'm still hoping Chandler will remain in NY).

Toney Douglas and Bill Walker were the bright spots for the Knicks.  Walker scored 11 points for the game and had the hot hand for the Knicks in the first half but totally disappeared in the second half, while Douglas chipped in 21 points and snatched 9 rebounds.  Shawne Williams, whose play and emergence as a 3 point specialist has been a surprise to everyone, was a  non factor tonight scoring 0 points in 25 minutes. He failed miserably as a defensive presence, as he filled in down low when Amar'e and Ronny Turiaf were on the bench resting.

Beno Udrih had the game high 29 points while Demarcus Cousins and Carl Landry added 16 and 15 points respectively. Samuel Dalembert came in off the bench and provided a huge defensive boost with six blocks shots in the game, basically preventing Amar'e from getting into any kind of rhythm.  All in all, tonight was a game to forget.  The 22-17 New York Knicks will look to bounce back when they host the Phoenix Sun on Monday during their annual MLK day game.
